Basket Workshops

SCHEDULE FOR SPRING 2017

All workshops are open to all level of experience. Material costs are included in the workshop fee.

Please note the location and method of registration for each individual workshop. Cheryl teaches at her studio in Whistler, B.C.  Other workshops are at locations as listed or you can contact Cheryl to arrange a workshop in your area.  See below for a list of workshops available.

All of the material used in every workshop has been gathered by Cheryl from the forest, lakes and ocean.   You will discover the joy of weaving with red cedar bark, tule rush or bull kelp.  We will discuss the historical value of the material, harvesting and preparation.

“Teaching basketry is rewarding and very inspirational.  It’s exciting when someone announces, I love weaving, right in the middle of the class.  It puts a big smile on my face and warms my heart that this ancient art form can nurture the creative side of individuals who have been in search of exploring their artistic passions.”
